How TAIF works
TAIF protects the discussion before the result appears, then gives students a reason to reconsider while their thinking is still active.
Students compare interpretations and explain the evidence behind their thinking.
The team agrees on one answer it can defend before the result is revealed.
Immediate feedback prompts the team to reconsider, retry and explain what changed.
Instructors can also run single-student activities. Each student answers independently, receives immediate feedback and earns their own mark.

During a live session, TAIF shows whether teams are discussing, ready to reveal, retrying or temporarily offline. After the session, educators can review results and exports.

Use the team's recorded path, marks and reflections to inform what happens next.
The teaching approach draws on published work in team assessment and immediate feedback.
Practical questions
Yes. An activity can contain a single multiple-choice question. Use it to get students discussing a concept, check understanding or begin a classroom conversation. The result does not need to contribute to the course grade.
Yes. Choose the Individual activity type. You can also choose student self-enrolment and set Maximum students per team to 1. Each student joins using the activity code, answers independently and receives their own mark. Immediate feedback and retry scoring still apply. Team discussion, multi-device team participation, Think first are switched off. An optional reflection is available after completion.
Single-student activities are an independent adaptation. The original team-based study does not establish learning outcomes for this mode. An individual mark records the submitted answers; it does not, by itself, verify identity, independent authorship or invigilated conditions.
Create an activity with one or more questions with two to six options, identify each correct answer and add optional explanations. Then choose the scoring, team formation, question order, device and Think First settings, and test the student interaction in Preview.
Students do not need accounts. In a single-student activity, each student answers on their own device. For a team activity, the team can share one device, or verified teammates can join on their own devices when member devices are enabled.
Yes. TAIF supports graded and ungraded activities with team or individual participation. The educator chooses the scoring and explains how the resulting mark will be used.
Educators can open Review to inspect team results, attempts, marks and reflections, and use the available exports.
